“My name is Alvar, and this is the tale of my first raid.”

For hundreds of years the Black Isles have kept ships from leaving Vrania. Karik Haldsson discovered a passage, but his adventures have left the coast lands in ruins, and with his death the passage has been lost.

But hunger and revenge drive desperate men to attempt the passage again. Alvar and his father join Jarl Uhtred's ship to challenge again the treacherous seas and attempt the passage to the west.

Setting out on his first journey, Alvar must survive the dangerous passage if he is to earn his place in future raids.
